The services we offer, and how they get paid for.
From Medicaid and Consumer Directed Services to nurse visits and private pay, we help you find the path that fits and handle the paperwork that comes with it.
Medicaid Funded
Care covered through Missouri Medicaid for those who qualify, so cost is not the reason someone has to leave home.
Consumer Directed Services (CDS)
You choose and direct your own caregiver, including a family member or friend, while we handle the payroll and the paperwork.
Personal In-Home Care (IHS)
Hands-on help with bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, and the daily tasks that keep staying at home safe.
Healthy Children & Youth (HYC)
In-home support for children and youth with qualifying needs, built around the family's routine and the child's care plan.
Veterans
Care and coordination for veterans and their families who need help with daily living at home.
Nurse Visits
Scheduled nurse visits to check in, monitor, and keep the care plan on track.
Private Pay
Flexible private-pay care for anyone who wants support at home without going through a program.
What does in-home care cover?
It is trained help with everyday life at home: bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, medication reminders, safety supervision, transportation, and company. It does not include nursing tasks such as wound care or injections.
Nobody plans for the phone call. It arrives as a fall, a diagnosis, or a discharge date three days out.
Then a family that has never done this before has forty-eight hours to work out what home care is, who provides it, what it costs, and whether they can trust a stranger in their mother's bathroom.
Love at Home exists for that week. We answer the phone, we come out and look at the actual house, and we tell you the truth about what the situation needs, including when the honest answer is that it needs less than you feared.
Then we staff it with someone who shows up. That last part sounds simple. In this industry it is the whole thing.
Find the thing you are actually dealing with.
Eleven kinds of care, each with its own page, because a plan for a child with a feeding protocol has almost nothing in common with a plan for a man recovering from a hip replacement.
Memory and neurological
Conditions where the routine, the environment, and the timing of care matter as much as the tasks.
- Dementia and Alzheimer's Care A familiar house is the last thing to stop making sense. Keeping someone in it is not sentiment, it is strategy.
- Epilepsy and Seizure Support The fear is not the seizure. The fear is the seizure happening while nobody is there.
- Parkinson's Care Parkinson's does not run on your schedule. Care that ignores the on and off cycle is care that fights the disease.
Daily living
The ongoing support that makes staying at home safe, sustainable, and worth doing.
- Personal Care The person you are helping into the shower once helped you into one. Everything about how this is done matters.
- Companion Care Loneliness is not a soft problem. It shows up in blood pressure, in appetite, and in how fast a mind slips.
- Respite Care You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you have been pouring since March.
Recovery and disability
Support through the weeks after a hospital stay, and the years after a diagnosis.
- Physical Disability Support Independence is not doing everything yourself. It is deciding how everything gets done.
- Post-Surgical Recovery The complication is almost never the surgery. It is day four at home, alone, doing too much.
- Transitional Care Most readmissions are not medical failures. They are logistical ones.
Children and veterans
Two groups whose care needs are specific and whose families are usually navigating a system alone.
How care actually starts.
Three steps, and the first one is a phone call, not a form.
-
You call, or you send one message.
Tell us who needs care and what is happening right now. No forms to fill out first, no sales script. If the situation is urgent, say so and we will treat it that way.
-
We come to the home. Free.
We sit down where the care will actually happen. We look at the stairs, the bathroom, the medication list, the routine. We talk to the person receiving care, not just about them.
-
You get a plan, and a caregiver who fits.
A written care plan built for one person, not a template. Then we match a caregiver on skill and on temperament, because the second one is what makes someone welcome in a home.
More than care. We treat you like family.
You are not just a client. You are family.
We are dedicated to delivering outstanding care with compassion, respect, and love, right in your home. Caring people, changing lives every day.
Passionate
We genuinely care about the people we serve, and it shows in how our caregivers show up. This work is personal to us, not a transaction.
Reliable
You can count on us. The caregiver you were promised is the one who walks through the door, on the schedule we agreed to.
Dependable
Support you and your loved ones can trust. We build the plan around your routine and your preferences, and we keep our word.
Eleven communities, and a caregiver who can actually get there.
If you are just outside one of these, call and ask. The honest answer depends on the schedule, not the county line.
Questions families ask first.
If yours is not here, call and ask it. We would rather answer it now than have you guess at it later.
How do I pay for in-home care?
Love at Home works through several paths, so cost does not have to be the barrier. We serve Medicaid-funded clients, Consumer Directed Services, Healthy Children and Youth, veterans, and private pay. Call (636) 378-7455 and we will walk you through which one fits your situation.
What is Consumer Directed Services (CDS)?
CDS is a Missouri Medicaid program that lets an eligible person direct their own in-home care, including choosing a family member or friend as the paid caregiver. Love at Home handles the payroll, the paperwork, and the compliance so you can focus on the care.
How quickly can care start?
It depends on eligibility, the hours, and the skills the plan needs. Tell us what is happening on the first call, especially if there is a hospital discharge coming, and we will be honest about how fast we can staff it.
What kind of care do your caregivers provide?
Hands-on help with everyday life at home: bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, medication reminders, safety supervision, and companionship. Skilled nurse visits are available for clients whose plan calls for them, scheduled separately from personal care.
Can you help veterans pay for care?
Yes. We help veterans and their families understand the benefits they may qualify for and coordinate care once support is in place. We will tell you plainly where our help ends and point you to accredited assistance for filing.
Do you provide care overnight and on weekends?
Yes. Care is scheduled around the person's actual needs, including overnight shifts, weekends, and around-the-clock coverage when the situation calls for it.
What areas do you serve?
Creve Coeur, St. Louis, and communities across the St. Louis metro, including St. Charles County. If you are just outside the area, call and ask.
What if my family member refuses help?
That is one of the most common situations we walk into, and it is usually about control rather than about the care. We start small, we let the person set the terms where we safely can, and we match a caregiver whose personality actually fits. Resistance almost always softens once the help is a specific person rather than an idea.
Start with a free in-home assessment.
We come to the home, look at the real situation, and give you a written plan. No cost, no obligation, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
